Welcome to the second annual Noosa2Byron charity ride hosted by Live Life Foundation. Now that we’ve all raised considerable contributions to help children with special needs, it’s time to deliver on our end of the deal. Former Paris-Roubaix winner and 17 x Tour de France rider, Stuart O’Grady, and Noosa2Byron support crew will welcome you at the beautiful Peppers Noosa in the afternoon where you will check in and get ready for tonight’s welcome dinner. This evening, enjoy a meal with the other participants and support crew who will be instrumental in getting us down to Byron safely over the next few days. Make sure you sleep well tonight ahead of a big opening day of riding tomorrow!

DAY 1 — Monday 4th March 2024

Today will be our first day on the bike as we make our way down to Maleny. Following a decent breakfast, we’ll kit up, check out and meet Stuey and the crew downstairs for a short safety briefing. Remember, we’ll be riding on open roads, so we need to be mindful of our surroundings at all times. Once we’re ready to hit the road, the ride leaders and Stuey will navigate out of Noosa and cruise down our Sunshine Coast inland ride route. The support vehicles following in tow will be stocked with gels and bars, ride snacks and drinks but there will be a rest stop along the way for a chance to rehydrate. Once we arrive in Maleny in the early afternoon, we’ll check into our rooms at our next hotel where we will have a chance to unwind ahead a relaxed lunch. Tonight, we’ll transfer to our dinner location and share stories about Day 1 on the bike as we share a nice meal together.

After another short briefing with the crew, we’ll start our ride down to Clear Mountain. We’ll stop around halfway to refuel and have something to drink and reenergise as we enjoy the sunny surrounds before we continue inland for our final 40km. Once we arrive in Clear Mountain, we’ll ride into our accommodation for the night. We’ll check in and have some time to have a rinse and relax the legs after a massive day of riding before a quick spot of lunch. We’ll regroup for dinner in the evening where we’ll discuss the next few days as we close in on Byron.
